I went through the other steps mentioned and it undone the changes and rebooted. ![]() At around 50% the PC restarted (it had restarted a few times before this point) and got stuck at the splash screen with the progress circle frozen. Hi guys Im always get stuck when I upgrade my DELL Inspiron 14 300 Series from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 at 18. I ended up trying to apply the update and the exact same thing happened. I kept clicking on remind me later until today it said it was going to apply the update itself and I had no option to remind me later. I continued to use the PC and was getting promted to apply the update. Once all the updates are installed restart your computer and go to this link and use the Windows 11 Update Assistant to update to. Go into Settings > Update & Security > WIndows Updates > Installed Update History to see what Update was being attempted. Check for Updates and install all updates available. I reset the PC again and it showed it was trying to recover the installation again then showed that it was undoing the changes made to the PC then restarted normally after about 5 minutes. After following those steps, restart your computer and try to check and install updates. It showed it was trying to recover the installation then it restarted and got stuck again. Select Windows Update to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions. I left it for a bit (around an hour all up) and ended up pressing the reset button to reboot the PC. Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all in the left pane. Click with the left mouse button or click on the Administrative Tools function. Type in the search box: Administrative tools. Click the left mouse button on the search box displayed in the Control Panel window. To do this, follow the instructions below: Go to Control Panel. I left it alone to do the update and when I came back it was stuck on the MB splash screen. Try restarting or stopping the Windows Update Service. The first time it happened the PC said there was an important update so I restarted my PC to apply the update. This will also update your computer to the latest version of Windows. If the status is Running, right click then select Restart. If the Startup status lists Stopped, click Start and then click OK. Double-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service. If the issue persists, you can perform Repair Upgrade, , it will repair and replace damaged system files. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. Updates may takes time, you just need to wait for it until it is complete, usually it may take an hour or two. I am on a Custom Gaming rig with an AMD 5600X with 32GB Ram. Check for Updates and install all updates available.
